If you know me you will know I love oats… I mean I seriously can’t go a day without eating them. Some days they’re hot, usually with banana and peanut butter (a classic). Other days, I prepare breakfast ahead to take to work.
Introducing warm oats ‘cooler’ (ha) cousin, overnight oats. Making these the night before has been such a life saver for my early mornings so I’d like to share my go to base recipe because seriously, you need these in your life. Check it out below and let me know if you give them a go!
What you need:
- Rolled oats
- Milk. Use whatever milk you want – I like almond. If you want your oats thinner, add more liquid! Personally, I love my oats to be so thick they can’t fall off the spoon
- Chia seeds
What I HIGHLY recommend:
- Protein powder – any flavour you want. My current favourites are chocolate and birthday cake.
- Yogurt – I like using Greek 0% fat
- Raisins – They soak up liquid and get full and juicyyy (a somewhat recent discovery so I use them every time to make up for time los
My Classic Base
40g Rolled oats
100ml Almond Milk
10g Chia seeds
15g Protein powder
100g Greek Yogurt
20g Raisins
1. Mix everything together in a bowl or jar and leave in the fridge overnight. Take out the next morning and enjoy!
